Larry Roy Stebbins was born on October 5, 1944, in Aberdeen to Ralph and Ruby (Macer) Stebbins. His mother raised him because his father passed away in March before he was born. Larry attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1962.
Larry would laugh and say he was “chosen by his friends and neighbors to serve in the US Army.” He was stationed and served in Germany. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Aberdeen, where he worked several jobs, including as a machinist at Hub City for 35 years until his retirement.
Larry married Marie Burns on May 2, 1986. Together, they enjoyed dancing, car shows, and rod runs. Larry was a talented mechanic and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed building street rods, including his 37 Chevy.
One of the greatest joys in his life was spending time with his grandson, Gage.
Grateful for sharing Larry’s life are his wife, Marie; stepsons Brent (Jennifer) Burns of Watertown, SD, and Lance (Kristi) Burns of Westport, SD; grandson Gage Burns; brother Raymond Stebbins; sister Margaret Synegard; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; four brothers; and one sister.
