Ronald LeeRoy Dick was born March 13, 1938, to Fred F and Mabel (Aman) Dick in Eureka, SD. They moved to Mina and lived on a farm and later moved to Aberdeen, where he attended high school, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1956.

On December 25, 1959, Ron was united in marriage to Glendora “Dolly” Bauer of Bowdle, SD, at St John’s Lutheran Church in Bowdle, SD. They made their home in Aberdeen, SD, where they had three children, Michael, Michelle, and Monica, with whom Ron enjoyed going fishing, camping, and seeing different sites. He worked for Family Homes and later worked at a local Mobil gas station, then Johnson Skelly, Kuebler Tank & Pump, and Mohrs Fencing, where he retired early after injury. He then struggled for over 15 years with Parkinson’s.

Ron enjoyed collecting John Deere toy tractors, belt buckles, NASCAR, and baseball caps. He also enjoyed going to auction sales with his wife collecting all types of antiques. After retiring, Ron met with a group of guys for coffee at the North McDonalds. He cherished woodworking and spending time with family, especially time spent with grandkids watching Twins baseball and wrestling on TV. Ron taught his grandkids how to be as sassy as he was, showed them where the ice cream was kept, and always made sure to send them home with some treats.

Grateful for sharing Ron’s life are his wife Glendora of 64 years; three children: Mike (Chris) Dick of Aberdeen, SD, Michelle (Lloyd) McKibban of Sioux Falls, SD, and Monica Mickelson of Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren: Kelsey Dick, Kaley Dick, Alyssa McKibban, Erika McKibban, Alec McKibban, Dylan Mickelson, and Joseph Mickelson; and one aunt Betty Finkbeiner and her son Blake.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mabel Dick; brother Ken Dick; and sister Marie Kuebler.
